USB power supply and cable

Validated

Use only a regulated 5 V USB power supply and cables in good condition. Do not use modified power supplies, damaged chargers, or cables with intermittent connections or overheating.

Battery

Validated

Do not puncture, bend, crush, heat, wet, or short-circuit the battery. Do not use a swollen or damaged battery, or one with exposed wires.

microSD card

Validated

Insert or remove the card only while the controller is completely powered off. Removing it during use may corrupt save data, settings, and updates.

Opening the controller

Validated

Turn the controller off, disconnect USB, remove the microSD card, and open it carefully. Do not force screws, clips, connectors, the display, battery wires, or speaker wires.

Static electricity

Validated

Work on a clean, dry, non-conductive surface. Discharge static electricity before touching the board, hold it by the edges, and use an antistatic wrist strap whenever possible.

Modifications

Validated

Do not cut traces, replace or alter components, reverse the battery polarity, or perform soldering and adaptations without specific documentation.

Installation

Before closing the controller

Use only an original Dreamcast controller and a front housing compatible with the version you purchased.
Correctly position the buttons, rubber membranes, display, speaker, battery, and cables.
Make sure no wires are pinched.
Check that all buttons and triggers move freely.
After closing it, test the buttons, analog sticks, triggers, audio, vibration, and charging.

Firmware

Do not interrupt an update

Use only official files. Back up your save data, maintain stable USB power, and do not remove the card, cable, or battery until the update is complete and the controller has restarted automatically.
